The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA) PAC has officially endorsed Carl DeMaio for State Assembly — highlighting DeMaio’s years of fighting state and local tax hikes and delivering wins for Californian’s’ wallets.
HJTA was formed by tax crusader Howard Jarvis after the passage of California’s landmark Proposition 13 in 1978. With the stated mission to protect Prop 13 and fight for lower taxes in the state, HJTA and DeMaio have frequently teamed up on like-minded tax-fighting efforts — such as the Gas Tax Repeal Initiative in 2018 and the current campaign to pass the California Taxpayer Protection Initiative in 2024.
Jon Coupal, president of HJTA, praised DeMaio for his decades of fiscal responsibility and saving taxpayers money, stating that “Carl DeMaio has been a consistent and powerful voice for California taxpayers as well as a reliable ally of Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association. With California on the brink of a fiscal crisis, we’re excited to see Carl DeMaio’s voice coming into the state legislature.”
Carl DeMaio thanked the HJTA PAC for their support.
"I’m very glad to have the endorsement of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC and I look forward to advancing reforms in the State Assembly to eliminate wasteful spending and reduce the burden on taxpayers with their help.”
